Mélody Johner
The Perennial team is proud and happy to support her

Mélody Johner, Swiss athlete in Eventing currently part of the Swiss Elite Team up
After offering Switzerland a place at the Rio Olympics in 2016, Mélody Johner took part in the European Championships in Strzegom in 2017 and won the Equissima CIC2* in Lausanne in front of her home crowd. Now based at the Manège du Chalet-à-Gobet with her husband, Benoît Johner, the rider is able to live her passion and her sport to the full, thanks in particular to her gelding Frimeur du Record CH, who has propelled her to the finest grounds in the world. A member of the Cadre Elite Suisse and a rising star in eventing, Mélody currently competes up to 4* level and was a member of the Swiss team at the last 2 Olympiads.
Mélody Johner took part in an eventing competition for the first time in April 2013 with her faithful horse Frimeur du Record CH, a horse she has trained since its very beginnings. The pair quickly rose through the ranks, eventually securing a place for Switzerland at the Rio Olympics in 2016, although unfortunately they were unable to take part. The following year, Mélody won her first selection for a major championship at the European Championships in Strzegom, Poland.
In 2020, Toubleu de Rueire joined the Lausanne-based rider's stables, and the chemistry was immediate. Barely 1 year later, it was with this new partner that Mélody was selected to represent Switzerland at the Tokyo Olympics. They finished 17th individually and were the best pair in Switzerland.
Mélody has become one of the pillars of the Swiss eventing team, taking part in the World Championships in Pratoni in 2022 (7th per team and ticket for the Paris Olympics secured), the European Championships at the Haras du Pin in 2023 (5th per team), and the legendary Aachen event in 2023. She was a member of the Swiss team that won several Nations Cups, including those at Pratoni and Avenches.
As well as continuing to ride at the highest level, Mélody is also committed to training the horses of the future. This involvement in training the champions of tomorrow has enabled her to take part in the Young Horse World Championships at Le Lion d'Angers on several occasions.
In 2024, Mélody and Toubleu honoured another Olympic selection by being part of the Swiss team that finished 5th at the Paris Olympics.
